Age Restriction
The Federal Fair Housing Law requires that the associations know the ages of all the owners/persons living in their units on a permanent basis. A minimum of 80% of the homes must have one person 55 years of age or older.

Identification Decals
Homeowner vehicle identification decals are mandatory for Sun Lakes homeowners. The license number of your vehicle will be required for registration. Decals are also available for golf carts.
Sun Lakes Country Club:
Decals for Sun Lakes #1 residents are available at the Sun Lakes Country Club Clubhouse front desk for a $1.00 fee.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde:
Vehicle decals are available for Cottonwood and Palo Verde residents at the Michigan Avenue Gate. Bring Homeowners Card and vehicle registration.
Ironwood/Oakwood:
Homeowner’s vehicle identification stickers are available at the Oakwood Patrol Office, Arts and Crafts Building. Current motor vehicle registration must be presented when obtaining car decal.

Bulletin Boards
A good source for the latest information on activities around Sun Lakes is the various bulletin boards located throughout the Sun Lakes community.
Sun Lakes Country Club: Bulletin boards are located in the glass case in the west entryway and the laundry room. Business endeavors and meetings that have a profit motive cannot be posted on the bulletin boards.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde: There are two bulletin boards at Cottonwood that list association business, activities, and recreational events. One is located on the north exterior wall of the men’s exercise room and the second is located to the left of the San Tan Ballroom entrance. The Forum, Channel 49 TV news, as well as SL Country Club and IronOaks bulletin boards are located near the San Tan Ballroom entrance. There are also bulletin boards in the Palo Verde Clubhouse, the fitness center lobby and at Sisk Park. The “For Sale” bulletin board is located in the Cottonwood courtyard just outside the tap dance room. This board is reserved for members interested in buying or selling household items, vehicles, or selling/renting homes in Cottonwood or Palo Verde. Flyer Boxes are located at both gates, Cottonwood breezeway, Cottonwood Café steps and San Tan walkway.
Ironwood: Bulletin boards are located at the Voax pool, Halley pool and Ironwood Clubhouse pool.
Oakwood: Bulletin boards are located in the Arts & Crafts Center and at the Oakwood Clubhouse. Please submit notices to be posted on the bulletin board to the Oakwood Clubhouse front desk. Notices should be on 8 1/2” x 11” paper and can include social events, community activities and official notices. (“For profit” notices are not allowed.)
Renaissance: Bulletin boards are located on Main Street. Please submit notices to be posted on the bulletin board to the Concierge Desk, which is located in the front lobby. Notices should be no larger than 8 1/2 x 11 and cannot include business endeavors or meetings that have a profit motive.
Ace Hardware Store: A bulletin board is located inside the Ace Hardware Store and is adjacent to the post office windows. Only Sun Lakes community information may be posted including parties, church events and volunteer services. This board is not to be used for business endeavors.

Committees For Architectural Control And Landscaping
As a property owner in Sun Lakes, there are certain responsibilities you must fulfill in maintaining the exterior appearance of your property. First, every owner is expected to ensure all landscaped areas are kept neat and well-maintained at all times. Second, the exterior of your home must always be kept in a good state of repair, including items such as exterior paint, garage doors, fences and walls, etc. The ACL committees have been established to help maintain the quality of appearance in Sun Lakes.
All additions, exterior painting, landscaping or decorative alterations, repairs, excavating, roof replacement or any other work which alters the exterior appearance of the home or landscaping must be approved by the appropriate ACL committee before the work begins. Community Center
The Lecky Arts & Community Center is located at the Maricopa County Library - Ed Robson Branch, 9330 E. Riggs Road. It is available for use by local organizations and clubs for meetings and seminars. The facility can also offer use of its piano, organ, presentation projection. It can seat up to 150 people. A small kitchen is also available. Dress Code For Sun Lakes Country Clubs
In order to retain a country club atmosphere in our recreation complexes, the following dress code has been established: Clothing covering the torso must be worn over swimwear when inside all facilities except the exercise rooms. No tank tops for men and no bare feet or golf shoes with spikes are allowed in the clubhouses.
When dining in the restaurants or using the lounges, attire should be worn that is compatible with the restaurant and lounge atmosphere.

Drop Box Payments
For your convenience a “drop box” slot is located at Robson Communities Corporate Office, 9532 East Riggs Road on the south side of the building. Our office takes Pima Utility, Splash advertisement payments, RV/storage payments, and Ironwood/Oakwood Golf ID/Signing Cards.
A payment drop box for SLHOAII dues payments is located in front of the HOA #2 Administration Office modular building located in the Cottonwood Country Club parking lot.

Education Center
The Sun Lakes Education Center is located at the corner of Riggs and Alma School (25105 South Alma School Road). For general information please call 857-5500.
The Sun Lakes Education Center’s primary purpose is to serve the non-credit and credit course needs of senior adults. Non-credit and credit classes will be designed for senior adults’ physical needs, such as length of time, seating, etc. The Education Center will serve as an educational satellite of the Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
The center will handle registration and other related student services. It will also utilize state-of-the-art telecommunications and computers.

Electric Service
Customer choice is coming to Arizona’s electric utility industry. Salt River Project (SRP) provides residential electric service for the area. Emergency Telephone Locations
ALL PAY PHONES CAN BE USED FREE OF CHARGE TO CALL 911 DURING AN EMERGENCY!
Sun Lakes Country Club: Emergency phones are located in the main clubhouse near the security office and the Oasis. The emergency phones should be used to call Sun Lakes Country Club Patrol at 895-1000. Emergency pull stations are located at the clubhouse main desk, health spas, whirlpools, arts & crafts area, Cactus Corner and the chapel.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde: Emergency phones are located at Sisk Park, Cottonwood tennis court No. 4, Palo Verde Golf Course holes No. 14 and No. 6, Cottonwood Golf Course hole No. 2, Palo Verde swimming pool, Michigan pool, Cottonwood children’s pool, and the Cottonwood spa lobby. These phones are for emergency use only.
Ironwood/Oakwood: Emergency phones are located at the swimming pools, RV/storage, mini-storage, and Alma School entry gate. During an emergency please call 911 or the Ironwood/Oakwood Patrol at 797-6508. The Ironwood Estates area is located in the City of Chandler. In addition to 911, the Chandler Police may be called at 782-4130.
Renaissance: Emergency phones are located in the main lobby, all activity rooms and on each floor by all elevators. The emergency phones should be used to call 911 during an emergency. In addition to 911, the Concierge Desk may be called at extension 2000.

Exercise Facilities
Sun Lakes Country Club: The exercise facilities include an enclosed whirlpool, lap pool, men’s and women’s exercise room, showers, saunas, lockers and restrooms. The exercise facilities are furnished for the benefit and enjoyment of adult members of Sun Lakes Country Club and their adult guests. Use of the facilities and equipment is at the risk of the user.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde: The exercise facility at Cottonwood is open daily for Cottonwood/Palo Verde residents and their guests and to Ironwood/Oakwood residents (for an annual fee), from 4:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Located in the facility are whirlpools, saunas, exercise equipment and lockers. No one under 19 years of age is allowed in the exercise facility. Those using the spa must carry ID cards.
Oakwood Health & Tennis Club: MaxLife™, located in the health and tennis facility, is designed to give active adults the opportunity to maintain and enhance health through education, exercise, supervision and state-of-the-art equipment. Enrollment in this private health club is easy and no prior experience in using weights or aerobics equipment is needed.
The health club is open 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Monday - Thursday), 6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Friday) and 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday). You can join the MaxLife program at any time throughout the year and select the membership plan that best suits your needs. For more information on MaxLife, please contact the Health & Tennis Club at 802-6853.
Renaissance: The exercise room is located on the second floor and is open 24 hours. The exercise facilities are furnished for the benefit and enjoyment of adult members of the Renaissance and their adult guests. Use of the facilities and equipment is at the risk of the user.
Exercise Facility Dress Code
The dress code applies to all homeowners, renters and guests at all exercise facilities:
- Shoes including tennis, jogging and aerobics, must be worn at all times - no street shoes.
- T-shirts with sleeves (no sleeveless or half-shirts allowed).
- No tennis skirts or short shorts.
- No weight belts.
Fire Department
The fire department responds to emergency medical calls and provides ambulance service. In addition to fire and medical emergencies, they also offer blood pressure checks and home safety inspections.

Flea Market
The Sun Lakes Flea Market is held in the west parking lot of the Sun Lakes Country Club Clubhouse on the third Saturday of every month beginning at 6:00 a.m. The flea market will not be held the months of June, July, or August. All Sun Lakes homeowners may purchase a permit for allocated space(s), a maximum of three per vendor, for $5 per space. Sale of permits for the use of vending spaces will be on a first-come, first-served basis at the Sun Lakes Country Club Clubhouse office, 895-9270, starting on the first Monday after Saturday’s flea market. If spaces are available, the Anglers Club may sell spaces the day of the flea market at the site of the flea market.

Garbage Collection
It is the homeowner’s responsibility to arrange for their garbage service. Sun Lakes/Robson Communities is not responsible for their charges and/or services.
Cottonwood / Palo Verde / Oakwood / Ironwood, with the exception of Ironwood Estates: The residents of Cottonwood/Palo Verde and Oakwood can choose from three garbage collection services.

Golf Cart Usage On Streets
Golf carts are permitted only on Maricopa County streets where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour or lower. Golf carts must have an Arizona license plate when used on the county streets. For further information call the Motor Vehicle Division, 602-255-0072.
- Licensed drivers only may drive golf carts. NO CHILDREN PLEASE.
- Only two riders per cart.
- During course operation hours, only carts used by golfers are permitted on the golf course cart paths.
When using your cart for transportation around Sun Lakes please:
- Observe all traffic laws.
- Keep to the right on the streets so cars can pass.
- Use proper hand signals.
- DO NOT leave keys in the carts (for your own protection).
A limited number of rental golf carts is available at each pro shop. Please contact the pro shop for fees and other required information.

GOLF CART OPERATION RULES
- Golf carts are limited to two persons and two golf bags.
- Only those persons with a valid driver’s license may drive golf carts.
- Observe and follow cart rules and regulations, as well as restrictions at each course.
- See the appropriate pro shop for specific golf course rules.
GOLF COURSE DRESS CODE
These dress codes apply to all homeowners, renters, associate members and guests at Oakwood, Cottonwood, Palo Verde and Ironwood golf clubs.
Proper attire for ladies: Golf shorts no shorter than mid-thigh, skirts or slacks, with blouses or sweaters. No tank tops, athletic shorts, halter tops, swimwear or tennis attire permitted.
Proper Attire for Gentlemen: slacks or golf shorts no shorter than mid-thigh, with collared shirts with sleeves. No tank tops, athletic shorts, swimwear or tennis attire permitted.
Shoes are required: Soft-spike golf shoes, sneakers or rubber-soled shoes must be worn on the golf course and the practice areas. Any footwear that would damage the greens is strictly prohibited.
The golf professional and staff have the right to determine what constitutes appropriate attire for the golf course and the practice facilities.

GOLF COURSE RANGERS
Rangers are on duty to see that all players keep pace and do not fall behind the foursome in front of them. Rangers will give special attention to golf etiquette, course abuses and slow play. Rangers are instructed to report all violations to the head golf professional. The appropriate board of directors will review reported violations and possible suspension of golf privileges may result. You are respectfully asked to respond positively to their directions.
GOLF COURSE RULES
Local rules are posted in the pro shops and are established by the board of directors with recommendations from the Association’s Golf Committee, the Men’s and Ladies’ Golf Associations and golf club management.
Check individual courses to determine if golf carts are mandatory and to review other rules pertaining to golf cart use on the cart paths.
The person striking the ball is responsible for any personal injury or property damage caused by the flight of that ball.
Golf balls are considered lost when they fall on private property. Please stay off private property. DO NOT trespass.
Only golfers playing are permitted on the golf courses. For your safety, no jogging, walking or bicycling is allowed on the golf course or cart paths at any time. Golf cart paths are for golfers only.
You may retrieve only your ball when hit into the lakes during play. All other balls are the property of the golf course.

Sun Lakes Health Center
The Sun Lakes Health Center located at the northeast corner of Alma School & Riggs Rd., provides primary care physicians, specialists, radiology including mammography, laboratory services, a pain management center, and educational classes and seminars.
The Community Room has meeting space for health and educational seminars and other community needs. It has a built-in audio system, two televisions and a video projection screen. The community room has a seating capacity of 100; for room reservations, please call 821-3223.

Newsletters
Cottonwood/Palo Verde Flyer: The Flyer is a weekly publication produced by the Cottonwood Palo Verde HOA. It provides information concerning the board of directors, activities, homeowner events and other items of interest to residents of Cottonwood and Palo Verde. The Flyer is available for pick up in designated boxes throughout Cottonwood and Palo Verde. It is downloadable from the CWPV Community website.
Iron/Oak Connection: The Iron/Oak Connection is a monthly publication available at www.ironoakshoa.org. It provides information on the Board of Directors, activities generated from Oakwood/Ironwood Clubhouses and various items of interest to residents of Oakwood/Ironwood. Sun Lakes Splash: The Sun Lakes Splash is a free monthly newspaper published by Robson Publishing for the residents of the Sun Lakes community. Residents and staff members generate articles. Subjects covered are general news, feature stories, club reports, sports and recreation activities, religious functions, calendars of current events and entertainment.
Editorial content from clubs and organizations should be limited to 400 words or less. News articles, photographs and display advertising must be submitted to the Splash office by the 13th day of each month or the Friday before, should the 13th fall on a weekend. Classified advertising needs to be submitted by the 10th day of each month.
To receive the Splash by mail, free of charge, during the summer months or extended vacations (more than one month), please notify the Sun Lakes Splash office at 895-4216 of your address change, one month prior to departure.

Pets
Dogs, cats and other animals must be kept on a leash when not confined to the owner’s lot or property. Pets are strictly prohibited in the clubhouses, on the golf courses, or any other recreation areas. Pet owners should not permit their dog, cat or other animal to create unsanitary conditions anywhere on the common properties. For your pet’s protection, have him/her licensed. You may contact the Sun Lakes Animal Clinic at 895-7633 or the Maricopa County Animal Control at 602-506-7387 for complete information about licensing.

The Sun Lakes Source Book is the official telephone directory and community guide for the residents of Sun Lakes.
Homeowners who choose to have a listing or have any changes to the Sun Lakes Source Book must submit the information to Robson Publishing, 9666 East Riggs Road, Suite 103, or call 895-4216 by October 1, 2008. The Source Book is published on an annual basis and will be available in January or February.

Racquetball/Handball Courts
Sun Lakes has two regulation racquetball/handball courts located in the east wing of the Palo Verde Country Club. The Sun Lakes Racquetball Club maintains a court sign-up board just outside the courts, as well as the club bulletin board with rosters, local racquetball news and upcoming events and tournaments. The courts are open for play from 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. daily, seven days a week.

Reciprocal Agreements
There are Reciprocal Agreements in existence between Sun Lakes Country Club and Cottonwood/Palo Verde, and between Cottonwood/Palo Verde and Ironwood/Oakwood. These Reciprocal Agreements deal with the common usage of facilities and vary between phases. For more information please consult your homeowners association.

RV Storage
For RV space information, call the rental office at 895-0791, located at 25237 South Sun Lakes Blvd. #7, Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The RV storage lot is located off Riggs Road on Price Road. It has a dump station and water but no electricity. RV storage spaces are on a fee basis.
Hook ups and nightly stays are not available.

This all-volunteer organization has been established by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to supplement efforts in protecting the Sun Lakes community from criminal elements, helping protect the welfare and lifestyle of its citizens, aid in emergencies and other service as required by the county. Sisk Park
Sisk Park has a putting course, horseshoe court, bocce ball court, a basketball court and a volleyball court. The ramadas and barbecue grills may be reserved for group functions or parties by calling the Recreation Director at 895-3550.

Sun Lakes “Field of Dreams” softball field is the home of the Sun Lakes softball teams who regularly play competitive softball with other adult softball teams throughout the valley. For more information on women’s and men’s softball leagues see the “Sports” section.

Swimming Pools
There is no lifeguard on duty at any of the Sun Lakes pools. Adult supervision of all children under the age of 19 is mandatory.
Sun Lakes Country Club: The main clubhouse has an adult pool, conversation pool and lap pool. Children under the age of 19 who are guests of only Sun Lakes I homeowners may swim from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Oasis has an adult pool and whirlpool. Children under the age of 19 who are guests of only Sun Lakes I homeowners may swim from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde: Adult pools are located at the Cottonwood main pool, Cottonwood lap pool, Palo Verde Country Club and the Michigan Avenue pool. Hours are from 7:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. No children under the age of 10 are permitted in these pools or pool areas at any time. Children 10 years and over may use these pools between the hours of noon and 2:00 p.m.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde Children’s Pool: The children’s pool is located at Cottonwood at the west end of the country club. Hours are from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and is for the use of children under the age of 16.
Ironwood Halley Pool/Ironwood Clubhouse Pool/Voax Pool: These pools are open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Children 2 years old through 17 are permitted to use these pools daily from noon until 3:00 p.m.
Oakwood: The lap pool, main pool and spa are open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Oakwood main and lap pools are available daily from noon until 3:00 p.m. for children 15 to 17 years.
The Oakwood children’s pool is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Children under two years of age or still in diapers may use the Oakwood children’s pool only providing they are wearing a swim diaper. A baby’s bathing suit must also be worn over the swim diaper. Children under two years of age, or in any type of diaper, are not allowed in any of the Ironwood swimming pools at any time.

Tennis
Sun Lakes Country Club: Courts are located on the east side of the clubhouse. Court lights may not be used after 10:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m. Scheduled events by the Tennis Association will have precedence for use of the courts.
Cottonwood/Palo Verde: The tennis facilities consist of two premier surface courts and five hard surface courts. Hours are from 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m., daily.
Ironwood: There are two clay courts located at Ironwood. Court lights may not be used after 11:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m.
Oakwood Health and Tennis Club: Oakwood is a private tennis club which includes two sunken stadium courts, four clay courts and eight hard surface courts. Twelve of the 14 courts can be reserved two days in advance with two courts being available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be organized league play as well as clinics and lessons. Tennis Sign-Up Boards
Sun Lakes Country Club Tennis Sign-Up Board: To sign up, put name and time under court number when you start. If all courts are in use, place your name on the waiting list. When playing time is up and players are waiting, you may add your name to the bottom of the waiting list.
Cottonwood Tennis Sign-Up Board: Information, schedules and registration forms for the Cottonwood Tennis Club and sign-up forms for scheduled play are available at the tennis bulletin board just outside the fitness center.
Palo Verde Tennis Sign-Up Board: The sign-up board is located at the ramada between the two courts.
Ironwood Tennis Sign-Up Board: The sign-up board for the two courts at Ironwood is located by court 1. Same sign-up procedures and rules apply as at Cottonwood.

Voter Registration
In order to vote in the State of Arizona you must be registered 29 days prior to any election. Registration forms are available at the Sun Lakes post office.

Wildlife Feeding
It is a violation of the Homeowners Associations’ rules to feed the birds, especially ducks and coots. Doing so causes an over-population problem as well as a health hazard.
